Home base at Pohick Bay State Park, in Lorton, VA. |
Some chrysalis, camouflaged by bits of pine needles. This is the

Huntley Meadows. A (Audubon?) preserve, nearby. |
Turtle. Yellow slider? |

Contemplating the boardwalk, at Huntley Meadow. |
George Washington, on the cutting of a tree. (I have to wonder if he was

|
Mount Vernon. George Washington's home. |
Not a bad little setup. I wonder what the real estate taxes were

|
View of the Potomac, from George's back porch. |

|
George Washington's original tomb. |
His final tomb, along with Martha and...
He had specified that he be laid to rest in such a tomb.

|
We visited Arlington National Cemetery. |
|
|
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We watched a wreath laying ceremony.
